Dr. Zhaorui Li is an associate professor in the department of Engineering at TAMU-CC whose research is in the general areas of computational fluid dynamics (CFD focusing on high-fidelity modeling and simulation of complex turbulent flows including multicomponent transport phenomena, high-speed flows interacting with shock waves, magnetized plasma flow, and combustion. His non-canonical turbulence research spans from magnetized Rayleigh-Taylor Instability (MRTI) and plasma turbulence under realistic inertial confinement fusion (ICF) conditions, plasma LES models development, shock-turbulence interactions involving chemical reaction and/or complex surfaces, to advanced methodology for complex multiphase flows. Dr. Li has been actively collaborating with other institutions including Los Alamos National Laboratory and Michigan State University on various research projects and graduate students mentoring.
