Dr. Hyde is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy and the Founder and Director of the Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics & Engineering Research (CASPER) at Baylor University. His research includes both experimental and numerical investigations of the charging and dynamics of micron sized dust in complex plasma environments including both astrophysical and laboratory plasma environments. His work investigates how particle dynamics are coupled to the plasma environment, tracking particles at an individual particle level and analyzing how these particles can act as measurment tools for energy flows within complex plasma fluid flows.
