Associate Professor
Dr. Stanton is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at San José State University whose research develops multiscale theories and computational methods for non-equilibrium, many-body systems. His work bridges microscopic particle interactions with continuum-scale transport, with applications in fusion energy, high energy-density physics, and complex fluids. Drawing on experience in scientific computing from his time at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, he develops predictive models that connect atomistic simulations, kinetic theory, and continuum descriptions, advancing new approaches for transport and turbulence across disparate scales. He is actively engaged in preparing students for careers in computational science through research mentoring, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and partnerships that connect academia with industry and the National Laboratories.
